Hello everyone.
Well 19 of us we expected to dine and go to see The Miracle Club last thursday 15th February.
Eleven of us dined at the Auberge which was excellent and another five at Chez Maryvonne’s which by all reports was also excellent and very enjoyable.
So now we seem to have split into two groups depending on the choice of restaurant. I feel torn as both are very respectable with positives to both.
The film The Miracle Club was ‘dire’ imho. And sleep came early. But everyone else came out of the auditorium with glowing and positive reviews.

Eh bien, nous étions 19, nous nous attendions à dîner et à aller voir le Miracle Club jeudi 15 dernier. Février.
Onze d’entre nous ont dîné à l’Auberge qui était excellente et cinq autres chez Chez Maryvonne qui, selon tous les rapports, était également excellente et très agréable.
Nous semblons donc maintenant nous diviser en deux groupes en fonction du choix du restaurant. Je me sens déchiré car les deux sont très respectables et ont des points positifs pour les deux.
Le film The Miracle Club était « désastreux » à mon humble avis. Et le sommeil est venu tôt. Mais tous les autres sont sortis de l’auditorium avec des critiques élogieuses et positives.

I am reliably informed that the next Original English film at Hauteville sur Mer being shown Thursday 11th January at 14.30 is the very old chestnut « Love Actually ».

Most of us will have seen the screening both on the big screen and also just about every Christmas on TV.
But here it is again for us to mime to the audio diction or just relax and await the predictable conclusion.
Normally I would have chosen to forego this pleasure but in the interests of harmony and subservience I am expected to accompany any small group of attendees.
I’m not sure whats happening about lunch that day but personally I would like to give the « Bonne Auberge » restaurant a try. Good reports from others last time but with limited seating it might be advisable to book early.

La plupart d’entre nous auront vu la projection à la fois sur grand écran et à peu près tous les Noëls à la télévision. Mais ici, il nous appartient à nouveau de mimer la diction audio ou simplement de nous détendre et d’attendre la conclusion prévisible.
Normalement, j’aurais choisi de renoncer à ce plaisir, mais dans un souci d’harmonie et de soumission, je suis censé accompagner n’importe quel petit groupe de participants.
Je ne suis pas sûr de ce qui se passe pour le déjeuner ce jour-là, mais personnellement, j’aimerais essayer le restaurant « Bonne Auberge ». Bons rapports des autres la dernière fois, mais avec des places limitées, il serait peut-être conseillé de réserver tôt.

I can’t say I am enthralled about period dramas but this one some infidelity and intrigue to titillate the taste buds. So I might stay awake for this one ………………….. just.
We were looking for an alternative venue for lunch being as Chez Maryvonne just can’t get their chips right and several members have complained.
So an alternative has been found close by that we thought might be worth a visit. One problem is the capacity is only 25 seats so pre booking will be necessary as it’s very popular even without our group.

Je ne peux pas dire que je suis fasciné par les drames d’époque, mais celui-ci contient de l’infidélité et des intrigues pour titiller les papilles. Donc je pourrais rester éveillé pour celui-ci ………………….. juste.
Nous recherchions un autre lieu pour le déjeuner, car Chez Maryvonne n’arrive tout simplement pas à préparer ses frites et plusieurs membres se sont plaints. Nous avons donc trouvé une alternative à proximité qui, selon nous, mériterait une visite. Un problème est que la capacité n’est que de 25 places, une pré-réservation sera donc nécessaire car c’est très populaire même sans notre groupe.
